As a leading provider of cancer care services in north Brisbane, Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital is continuing to elevate and expand its cancer services with the recent opening of a new state of- the- art 17-chair Day Oncology Unit.
In November 2012, Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital opened a new 30-bed medical oncology ward which complements the new Day Oncology Unit and demonstrates our commitment to provide patient centred cancer care services.
Daniele Doyle, General Manager of Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital said, “Cancer is a challenging illness and we are mindful of the trust placed in us as we accompany and sensitively support and care for each person throughout this journey in their life. At Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment as we care for and witness patients and their families who demonstrate courage, strength and resilience throughout their treatment with us”.
She continues, “Our new Day Oncology Unit has been created for our patients and their families who are at the heart of everything we do. We understand there is no typical experience of cancer and coping with any particular type of illness may be particularly distressing for the family-so we have created an environment with ambience, a space with calm dignity, a special kind of place for self-transformation”.
“As Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital continues to expand its cancer services, we now focus on the development of a dedicated Breast Cancer Service to meet the community need for breast cancer screening and diagnostic services in our region.
It is an exciting time for our hospital in the development of our cancer services and realising our vision to be a leader of a comprehensive and multidisciplinary cancer service in north Brisbane”.
