To bring God’s love to those in need through the healing ministry of Jesus is the foundation of everything St Vincent’s Health Australia does. Whether our people are serving meals and cleaning rooms, or pursuing cutting edge research and saving lives, we seek to follow Christ’s example of healing the sick and walking alongside the poor and vulnerable, inspired by the vision, hard work and sacrifice of Mary Aikenhead and the Sisters of Charity.

Mission

SVHA’s Mission Leaders play a special role: they understand deeply the theological basis of the organisation’s ministry, the special commitment to people who are poor and vulnerable, and the broader Catholic tradition, and use this knowledge to accompany the organisation in discerning how its Mission can continue to be expressed.

Policy, Advocacy and
Communications

St Vincent’s Health sees advocacy – to governments, to health and aged care policymakers, and via the media to the public – as crucial in delivering on its Mission. SVHA’s advocacy is focused on tackling the systemic causes of injustice and vulnerability.
