Medibank Customers Rank St Vincent’s #1 Third Year Running

St Vincent’s Private Hospitals have been ranked first in Australia by Medibank customers for the third year running as part of the health insurer’s annual Patient Reported Experience Measures Survey (PREMS).

St Vincent’s Private Hospitals – which include hospitals in NSW, Queensland and Victoria – were ranked first by Medibank’s customers across the four domains surveyed: communication and engagement, care in hospital, going home, and hospital environment.

Under the domains – and measured against the 15 Australian private hospital groups ranked in the patient survey – St Vincent’s hospitals were ranked first in seven out of 12 sub-categories including nurse communication, doctor communication, communication about medicines, cleanliness, quietness, overall rating, and NPS score (which measures patient experience).

St Vincent’s CEO Chris Blake said the results were a credit to staff and their commitment to patients.

“This is a fantastic achievement and a credit to each and every one of our private hospital team members who work so hard to create an exceptional experience for our patients, families and communities,” said Mr Blake.

“To have been ranked number one by Medibank customers for three years running is just extraordinary. It speaks volumes of the efforts our teams make to continuously improve and stay ahead of the curve.

“The result is even more impressive when you consider they’ve been achieved in what is still a very challenging healthcare environment. All hospitals in Australia are still feeling the after-effects of the COVID-19 pandemic; all hospitals are struggling to retain and attract a skilled workforce.

“It’s a wonderful endorsement of our approach and tells us we’re on the right track,” said Mr Blake.

Better and fairer care. Always.

In a rapidly transforming world, St Vincent's has created a refreshed vision and strategy to help shape Australia's health and aged care future.
