The world’s most powerful prostate laser is being trialled by Surgeons at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney, home to one of Australia’s leading Urological services.
Prostate Hyperplasia (Prostate Enlargement) affects 50% of men over 60 years old and 80% by age 80.
The laser uses high frequency energy to minimise trauma, meaning it is overall much safer, less invasive and less likely to have side effects than in the past. It can also be used in other procedures such as blasting Kidney Stones.
Urological Surgeon Dr Raji Kooner is the first in Australia to use this new technology. He speaks exclusively to 9News about its advance for patients.
