About us

Founded by the Sisters of Charity more than 180 years ago, St Vincent’s is a clinical, research and education leader working in private hospitals, public hospitals, and aged care services across NSW, VIC and QLD.

Our founder, Mary Aikenhead’s vision, commitment and inspiration lives on in us and the work we do. Guided by our mission, we express compassion and the love of Jesus to the many who are in need of a word of hope and encouragement, a helping hand, and a listening ear.

What you need to know 

Visa sponsorship will be offered to eligible international candidates who have prior experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Registered Midwives
  • Registered Nurses with prior experience in:
    • Mental Health
    • Intensive & Critical Care
    • Emergency Department
    • Aged Care
    • Theatre
    • Anaesthetics

What will I need in order to work with St Vincent’s Health Australia? 

1. A valid visa

In order to work with us in Australia you must have an approved and valid visa. To find out more on the range of visas that may suit the work that you intend to perform, visit the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website

2. AHPRA registration 

You will require an active AHPRA registration. We recommend that you commence your AHPRA registration application prior to expressing interest to work with us.  

When you apply for registration, your application is carefully assessed against the National Board’s requirements for registration. This is to ensure you are suitably trained and qualified and meet the requirements for registration in your profession.

What employee benefits are available to international candidates? 

Eligible overseas candidates will receive:

  • Funding support towards immigration costs, such as visa nomination fees
  • Subsidised hotel quarantine costs
  • Paid salary for 7-day period post hotel quarantine (requirement for some states in Australia)

How to apply

Ready to become a healthcare superhero? Here’s what to expect as you begin your St Vincent’s journey:

(1) Register

Click here to express your interest about joining one of our healthcare superhero teams.

(2) Candidate assessment for outstanding care

Once you have submitted your application it will be reviewed by our Recruitment team. For those candidates who meet the minimum selection criteria, your application will be reviewed in line with the position’s requirements and your indicated preferences in your completed profile.

(3) Call-back

The recruitment process may involve an initial telephone call from the Department Manager, a scheduled interview, reference checks and selection assessments. The assessments may include: mandatory immunisations/vaccinations, criminal record and/or child protection checks, AHPRA registration and other relevant checks.

(4) Application Progress

While we establish the best fit for your skills and experience, you should also expect to receive email notifications on the progress of your application.
